Servicing your Car or Truck? DON'T forget these 10 Things - Hilux / Tacoma / 4Runner
Simple maintenance checks and service items for your car or truck.
By doing these regularly, your vehicle will last a long time.
In addition to what is shown in this video, you can also check the condition of any belts that run the alternator, power steering pump, air conditioning pump or any other accessories, and if these need to be replaced, go ahead and replace them.
This truck uses a timing chain to run the valve train, but if your vehicle uses a timing belt to run the valve train, then this may also need to be replaced.
This is not a definitive guide on every single item that needs to be checked, but these are the common service items. Consult your maintenance manual or Service Centre f...

    I have a GD6 Auto 2018 and recently had the Kenya dealership change all the oils. About 8k km later I am having shifting issues with big jerks to the car and looking into it is seems the old level is too high. There is a check plug where oil should not run out once the gearbox is at about 51deg, mine is running out at when cold. I have read that too much oil causes foaming and lubrication failure. I would not follow this advice and check better explanations for your specific car

    I have one acre that needs a lot of limbs cut down and just a few big oak trees. I'm getting a MS250 for real good deal and almost brand new with a 16-in and I would like to buy a 20-in bar just in case. Is the MS 250 big enough to run a 20-in bar or should I get a bigger chainsaw. Also what brand bar and chain should I buy for it just being a homeowner?

    • @GrantBurton
      @GrantBurton День назад

      Hi Chris, I think the MS250 running a 16" bar will work well... using the 20" bar in anything other than very soft wood is going to be a bit much for the saw to handle. If you are wanting to use a 20" bar, I think the MS261, or possibly a bigger saw, is a better suited for that size bar (of course with a properly sharpened chain). The MS261 with a 18" bar is a good combination. As for brand of bar and chain, I've just stuck with Stihl (haven't tried anything else). The MS250 is a nice homeowners saw so If you are getting the MS250 for a real good deal, why not just get it and run it with the 16" bar for a while and see if it does everything you want it to do?

  • @rcinfla9017

    It is important to understand the RCV and RFV settings are just requests sent to inverter/charger to adjust the inverter/charger's charge parameters. The inverter/charger is still the master regulating actual charge rate. If inverter/charger does not understand the BMS requests due to inverter/charger not having the proper RS485 or CAN physical interface and matching comm protocol with the BMS, the requests will not be executed by the inverter/charger. The BMS does have a DC to DC converter (big toroid inductor visible) across the charge disable series pass MOSFET's. When charge MOSFET is disabled the DC to DC converter can activate allowing 0 to 10 amps charge into battery. This is helpful near full charge state where too much cell imbalance would cause a full charging shutdown due to a cell overvoltage condition. BMS can fine tune the charge rate down to low level still allowing balancing to continue but preventing a cell overvoltage shutdown by reducing charge rate. There must be comm with inverter/charger to use this because inverter/charger without BMS comm will likely interpret charge current drop off as a fully charged battery and drop inverter/charger down to float mode charging voltage level. During this BMS buck converter charge rate reduction it tells inverter/charger to maintain an absorb voltage level charge voltage.

      Hi Francis, both the charge and discharge control can be set to 'On' at the same time but it can't charge and discharge simultaneously (as in at exactly the same time)... the battery will either be charging or discharging, but it will allow current flow in both directions 'automatically' if both the charge and discharge control is 'On'. Great video. I'm looking for a similar system. Please assist me here I have a question, If you have hard water coming from your main supply, won't it deposit on your UV sterilizer thus reducing its efficiency since you have installed the softener after sterilization?

    • @GrantBurton
      @GrantBurton 7 дней назад

      Hi, thanks very much. The carbon filters after the UV steriliser aren't for softening water, they mainly reduce odor and improve taste. The UV light needs to be replaced once a year, at which time the glass tube also gets removed and cleaned off any debris. Many people also install three filters before the UV steriliser... Something like a 20 micron sediment filter, then a carbon filter and then another 1 micron sediment filter and this arrangement also works fairly well. To soften hard water, you may have to install a water softener system but I believe these require a bit of maintenance (but I'm no expert on these water softening systems).

I want to add batteries and the installer said the batteries I have are 280v, which is referring to the cells in the batteries, I think. Anyway I want to add batteries that aren’t the same as these because the ones I have aren’t available anymore. It looks like if I put JK BMS’s in the batteries and connect them all on the canbus, then dissimilar sized lifepo4 batteries will work because the JK BMS will protect them from over/under charging/voltage. Hi Karabo, to my knowledge, there is tamper detection built into the Yoco card machines. When the machine detects possible unauthorised manipulation or attempted fraud, or if the case is opened or the chip reader is tampered with, it displays the message and the machine will no longer work, and you’ll need to contact Yoco directly for them to assist. I read this some time back so I hope I'm remembering it correctly, but according to their website, it can also trigger if the machine is dropped or experiences an electrical surge while charging. Maybe this 'protection mode' you mention is the same thing? Either way, I think the best is to contact Yoco directly as they should be able to see what is happening with your specific machine from their side. Hope this helps.

    There is just no way to know how something really sounds without standing there

    • @GrantBurton

      Yeah... In videos, it can be difficult to convey loudness without a reference to something else with a known loudness also tested at the same time.

    If you don't have the height for a larger collection pipe I guess you could always have two in series?

    • @GrantBurton
      @GrantBurton 7 дней назад

      Do you mean the collector pipe that has the ball inside and catches all the dirty water? or the pipe that feeds water form the gutter into the top of the rainhead / leaf catcher?

    Hi B.....why does my machine keep switching off?

    • @GrantBurton
      @GrantBurton 8 дней назад

      I'm not sure, first I've heard of this. Does it randomly turn off or does it turn on then off immediately? Maybe the battery isn't charging or maybe there is a bug in the firmware and it needs a firmware reload. Did you try contact Yoco directly for support, because they should be able to access the machine from their side to see what is happening. How old is your card machine?

    use compression fittings, they are very convenient

    • @GrantBurton
      @GrantBurton 7 дней назад

      They are very convenient, especially if maintenance needs to be done at a later stage, or if pipes need to be disconnected, or the setup updated as time goes by, it makes for easy changes.

    Where is video of your battery ??

    • @GrantBurton
      @GrantBurton 7 дней назад

      Hi Franck, I don't have any video of my battery as it is from a time long before I had any thoughts of making these solar related videos, but if I build a new battery, I'll probably make a video of that. Andy from the Off-Grid Garage channel (@OffGridGarageAustralia) has some nice battery build videos if you are looking for something right now.

    You went to a lot of effort to put all the conduit in place but your last red cable is sitting directly on the roof tile. You can buy panel clips to keep the wires off the tiles and attached to the panel frame
